Michael Norwood is a bassist born in Central Mississippi. From funk and smooth jazz to reggae and gospel, Norwood plays it all! Norwood is becoming a much sought after talent playing for a number of bands and at events in and around the Jacksonville, Florida
area as well as abroad.
He's a member of Wayman Ministries and plays in the band full-time for both of the church's Southside and
Westside locations in Jacksonville.

Norwood has also
played for national recording artist Lisa McClendon where he served as her music director. He's also played for the 2006 Urban Gospel
artist of the year Leon "Timbo" Seymour. He helped direct several live DVD recordings with both McClendon and Seymour at Boomtown
in Jacksonville. He has also lent his talents to Alana Sutherland's The Fusion Band.
He's had the great privilege of sharing the stage
with several well known artists such as Grammy Award winning Norman Brown, Karen Clarke-Sheard, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, The
Rippingtons, Charlie Wilson, Algebra Blessett's, and Keni Myles just to name a few.
In 2006, he served as the bassist for the
Almond Group Tour featuring comedian Rickey Smiley. Besides the bass, Norwood also is a drummer by nature and plays both the acoustic
and electric guitars. He's also part of Verity Records writing team.
He currently has two songs on Lisa McClendon's latest album "Live
from The House of Blues - New Orleans" where he helped co-write two songs along with Lisa and Timbo Seymour.
